A Room Designed by Someone Who Mixes in Them

An Atmos room is judged by one thing: whether the mix you make in it translates everywhere else. Headphones, soundbars, cars, living rooms and theaters all render the same Atmos master differently. Rooms designed only on paper often look right and still mislead the engineer sitting in the chair.

David has worked in multichannel music since 1995, when his mix became the first music CD released in DTS 5.1 surround. Over a hundred surround titles have followed. That experience shapes every decision Frangioni Media makes about speaker placement, height channels, bass and acoustic treatment.

What a Frangioni Media Atmos Build Includes

• Room and acoustic design: dimensions, isolation, treatment and finishes planned around the speaker layout, whether that is 7.1.4, 9.1.6 or larger.
• Monitoring and bass management: speaker and subwoofer selection, placement and aiming for an even image at the mix position and beyond.
• Workflow and integration: Pro Tools, the Atmos renderer, monitoring control and the network tying them together, wired and documented.
• Calibration and translation checks: level, delay and EQ set by measurement, then confirmed against binaural, 5.1 and stereo references.
• Training, only if needed: hands-on sessions so your engineers or staff are productive on day one.

The Track Record Behind the Room

David built Ozzy Osbourne’s first home studio, a room capable of producing full albums, and worked for years inside the Aerosmith camp, engineering and running the band’s technology. Frangioni Media has delivered projects for Elton John, Cher and The Rolling Stones. Through Audio One, the company he founded in the 1990s, David earned more CEDIA awards in a given period than any other audio-visual firm in the world.
