Production, Mixing, and Song Creation
To bring a melody, lyrics, and emotion to a finished master, it takes a specific nuance to capture the true essence of an artist. David Frangioni works closely with musicians to take their vision and songs to the highest potential. David collaborates and helps shape the artist’s ideas, drawing out the best performances and completed songs.
Producing
A Producer is responsible for taking the song from a written song and creating a finished master recording. However, there are a lot of steps in between that create and capture the “magic” such as inspiration, putting together right musicians for the project, the right environment, the right times to record, getting the arrangement perfect and, of course, making sure that the record sounds amazing. David Frangioni’s experience, approach and results as a producer bring all of this energy to a project and much more. David has been producing records for over 25 years and uses his thirst for the latest music technology, sound quality and drum programming together with his deep belief in spirituality to produce the best record an artist can make.
Mixing
The final mix determines how great the master recording will sound after the tracks are recorded and ready to mix. David mixes his own productions in his state-of-the-art studio but he also lends his mixing expertise to other projects on a song-by-song basis. David’s approach to mixing is to create a sonically powerful, musical end result that captures the energy of the song, working closely with the artists and/or producer to get it right and ready for mastering. David does his own mastering on request or works with a number of the world’s greatest mastering engineers depending on the project.
Surround Mixing
David mixed the first-ever 5.1 digital surround sound music CD for DTS in 1995. He went on to pioneer surround sound mixing in the music space by mixing into surround over 100 DVD’s, Blu-Ray’s and CD’s for clients such as MTV, BET, Music in High Places and many more. The artists for whom David has mixed music into surround include Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Rod Stewart, Santana, Jimmy Page & Robert Plant, Ringo Starr, Shania Twain, Bryan Adams, Kiss, Mary J. Blige, Chaka Kahn, Lou Rawls, Sugar Ray, Boyz II Men, The Deftones, Peter Gabriel, Bruce Springsteen, Alanis Morissette, Seal, Steve Smith & Vital Information, Tracy Chapman, Radiohead, Wynonna, Steely Dan, Billie Myers, Collective Soul, BBMak, Brian McKnight, Sheryl Crow, Jackson Browne and hundreds more. David’s studio is designed for surround sound and his vast experience in mixing, setting up and listening to surround sound is truly unique in music.
